Price List Download Formatting

Converting an Aldridge price list onto an Excel document

Now that you have been given the ability to download your nett price list you can import them into your back end systems or convert them into an Excel document for your own usage. Please see below some instructions regarding how to download and convert the nett price list data.

Requesting Price List

1) Log in to www.aldridgesecurity.co.uk
2) Click "My Account" & "My Dashboard"
3) Click “Request Price List” from the left hand menu
4) Read the terms of use, if you agree then click "Request Price List"
5) The price list will be emailed to you within 15 minutes to your registered e-mail address

Converting To Excel

1) When you receive the e-mail open it up and right click the attachment
2) Left click “Save As” and save it to your desktop
3) Open up Microsoft Excel
4) Select the “Open” command
a. Change the file type to “Text Files”
b. Browse to the file on your desktop and double click it

5) The “Text Import Wizard” should open up

a. Select “Delimited” on the top and click “Next”
6) Tick “Other” and enter a pipe symbol here (upright stroke)

7) Click Finish

Formatting Spreadsheet

All of the data should now be in individual columns in Excel ready for use however to make it look more user friendly to may wish to consider the following:-

Column Width

1) Select all cells by clicking the small grey box at the very top left of screen in between column headers “A” and “1”

2) Double left click in between and any of the column header letters and the columns will expand appropriately

Bar Code Format

1) Right click on column header “E”
2) Left click “Format Cells”
3) Select the “Number” tab
4) Select “Number” from “Category:”
5) Change “Decimal Places” to “0”
6) Click “OK”
